19 May – 21 May 2023 – FROM BIOENERGY TO AGRI-VOLTAICS: THE NEW LAND-USE CHALLENGES
The story of the link between agriculture and renewable energies: from the use of biomass and the virtuous mechanisms initiated with livestock farms for the production of biogas with a view to the circular economy, to the food-no-food competition of old-generation photovoltaics against the new frontiers of agri-voltaics.
In this framework, various scenarios will open up related to reference policies, sustainability assessments with multi-disciplinary approaches (water-energy-ecosystem-food nexus), possible solutions to foster energy transition through the use of marginal land, competitions on agricultural land use, and much more. The various national and international experiences that CREA and FAO are pursuing (also together) will be addressed.
