Presentation of LENSES preliminary results from Israeli pilot at the “AgriVoltaics 2022” conference in Piacenza, Italy

The 3rd agri-photovoltaic (APV) conference, which was held as a hybrid event, was attended by 250 people physically and 500 online. It was organized in a joint effort by Fraunhofer ISE & INRAE together with Conexio-PSE, a company specializeding in green energies conferences. The event took place at the university campus of  the Catholic University of Piacenza, from 15 to 17 June 2022.

The conference was structured in 12 different sessions in which 61 lectures were involved, both through panels and individual talks. Speakers presented applied and scientific research aspects, and showcased projects implemented across various countries in Northern and Southern Europe, Asia, and East Africa. In addition, there was a technical tour of the Agrovoltaic facility where a REMTECH two-axis tractor is in place, in the 10-hectares study site of the Catholic University of Piacenza.

Dr. Moshe Meron, team member of MIGAL, presented remotely the research activities on-going in the LENSES pilot area in Israel, where the installation of APV panels in orchards have been tested. He received many positive reactions from the audience. The delegation from Israel took the opportunity to visit the pilot site of the Catholic University of Piacenza.
